Who we are

Jenkins Property is a trading name of Jenkins Property Ltd (company number 17072980), Jenkins Property Sales Ltd (16686190) and Jenkins Property Lettings Ltd (16686785). For the personal information described in this notice, the data controller is Jenkins Property Lettings Ltd (company number 16686785), 17 Ongar Road, Brentwood, CM15 9AU, registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under reference ZC004575.

What we collect

When you ask for a valuation or contact us by phone, email or a form on this website, we collect:

• your name, phone number and email address
• the address and postcode of the property, and what you tell us about it
• what you would like help with, your preferred times, and anything else you choose to include in your message
• a record of our correspondence with you

When you use our Rightmove listing check, we collect the Rightmove link you enter and the public listing information it points to.

Our website host also processes technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the site and keep it secure.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

• To answer your enquiry and arrange a valuation. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us.
• To market and sell your property if you instruct us. Lawful basis: performance of our contract with you.
• To meet our legal obligations, including anti-money laundering checks and record-keeping. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
• To run the listing check and keep the website working and secure. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests.

We will only send you marketing if you have agreed to it, and you can withdraw that agreement at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where needed, with:

• the service providers who help us run our business, such as our email, property software and website hosting providers
• identity and anti-money laundering check providers, if you instruct us
• solicitors, surveyors and other parties to a sale, where you ask us to act for you
• regulators, the police or other authorities where the law requires it

Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, we make sure it is protected by UK adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries and valuation requests that do not lead to an instruction: up to 2 years from our last contact.
• Client records, including anti-money laundering records: for at least 5 years after our business relationship ends, as the law requires.
• Listing check requests: no longer than needed to produce and support the report.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of your personal information
• ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
• ask us to delete your information
• ask us to restrict how we use it
• object to how we use it, including for direct marketing
• ask us to transfer it to you or another organisation
• withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it
